Every time a famous ring hits the news, the same thing happens: the cut, the shape, the setting get searched a million times, and 99% of the people searching will never spend six figures on it. This guide is for that 99%.
Below are 22 of the most-searched celebrity and royal engagement rings, what actually makes each one recognizable, and the version from our shop that gets the look — the shape, the halo, the color, the band — for under $40. Most are stainless steel, a few are sterling silver or rhodium- or gold-finish brass, and the stones are cubic zirconia. We'll be blunt about what matches and what doesn't in every single entry, because a ring you wear daily should be an honest purchase, not a pretend one.
How we picked these (and what "dupe" means here)
A dupe, in our book, is not a copy. It's a piece that reads the same way from across the table: same stone shape, same setting idea, same color story. Nobody is going to mistake a $22 stainless steel ring for a 10-carat diamond, and we're not going to pretend otherwise.
So every pick below had to pass three checks. First, the silhouette matches — oval, pear, cushion, emerald cut, marquise — because that's what people recognize. Second, the setting logic matches — solitaire, halo, three-stone, pavé band. Third, it's built for real life: stainless steel doesn't tarnish, doesn't turn your finger green, and is hypoallergenic, so you can shower, work out and sleep in it. Sterling silver picks are marked; they look brighter but want a little more care.
What none of them are: real diamonds, real sapphires, solid gold or platinum. The stones are cubic zirconia (CZ) throughout, including the colored ones — the one exception is a green cabochon, which is a simulated stone, not an emerald. Gold-tone rings are gold-finish (IP-plated) steel or brass, not gold. Prices were checked in September 2026 and may move.
Taylor Swift's ring: the one everyone is searching right now
Since August 2025, when Travis Kelce proposed, no ring has been searched more. Taylor's ring is an antique-style old mine cut diamond — a soft, chunky cushion shape with a small table and big facets — set east-west on a hand-engraved yellow gold band, designed with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. Carat weight was never confirmed; estimates run from 7 to 12.

Our take: Brass Gold Clear CZ Cushion Cable Twist Solitaire Ring — $28.49. What matches: a single big cushion stone, no halo, on a textured antique-gold band — the same "bare stone on a detailed gold band" idea that makes Taylor's ring read as vintage. What doesn't: our band is a cable twist rather than hand engraving, the stone sits north-south rather than east-west, and it's gold-finish brass, not 18k. For the feel — warm, antique, a bit ornate — this is the closest thing we make.
Ovals and cushions: the modern-classic group
Hailey Bieber — oval solitaire on a thin gold band
Hailey's 2018 ring is the reason "oval solitaire, thin band" became the default request at every jeweler in America: an elongated oval diamond, four prongs, a barely-there yellow gold band, by Solow & Co. In 2024 she upgraded to a bigger Lorraine Schwartz oval and moved the original to her pinky.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Oval Four Prong Solitaire Ring — $18.99. Oval CZ, four prongs, a thin plain band — the same silhouette, and the cheapest ring in this guide. The obvious difference: it's silver-tone stainless steel, not yellow gold.
Kim Kardashian — cushion on a floating pavé band
The 2013 Lorraine Schwartz ring that defined "big cushion, invisible band": a 15-carat cushion-cut diamond on an ultra-thin pavé band that seems to disappear under the stone.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Cushion Solitaire Pavé Petite Ring — $20.99. Cushion CZ on a slim pavé band — that's the Kim formula. The honest difference is scale: ours is a petite stone, so it's the everyday-sized version of the look, not the 15-carat one.
Priyanka Chopra — cushion with tapered baguettes
Nick Jonas's 2018 ring from Tiffany & Co.: a cushion-cut diamond with a tapered baguette on each side, platinum.

Our take: Brass CZ Cushion Solitaire Baguette Accent Ring — $21.99. Large cushion CZ flanked by one tapered baguette per side, silver-tone brass. This is a layout match, not just a mood match.
Simone Biles — oval with a hidden halo
Simone's 2022 ring from Houston's ZoFrost & Co. is a 3-carat oval in 14k white gold on a pavé band, with a hidden halo tucked under the stone rather than around it.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Oval Halo Classic Ring — $19.99. Oval center, pavé band, white-tone steel. The one honest difference: our halo is visible, not hidden, which makes the ring read slightly bigger and more sparkly on the hand. Cheapest pick in this guide and one of the most in-stock.
Pear-shaped: the red-carpet group
Princess Charlene of Monaco — pear solitaire
A roughly 3-carat pear diamond flanked by small brilliants, attributed to Repossi, from Prince Albert's 2010 proposal. Charlene rarely wears it, which somehow makes it more searched.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Pear Solitaire Ring — $20.99. Straightforward pear CZ solitaire in stainless steel, sizes 5–10. Charlene's has tiny side stones; ours is a clean single stone. Closest pair in the whole list for the money.
Cardi B — pear in a double halo
Offset proposed on stage in 2017 with an 8-carat pear ("raindrop") diamond inside a double halo of pink and white diamonds, by Pristine Jewelers.

Our take: Brass CZ Pear Double Halo Ring — $22.49. Pear center, double halo — the exact setting idea. Ours is all-clear CZ (no pink ring of stones) in silver-tone brass.
Adele — big pear on a pavé band
Adele's ring — pear-shaped, estimated 8–10 carats, four prongs, platinum, pavé shoulders — was spotted in 2021 and only confirmed as an engagement ring in 2024 when she said so on stage in Munich.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Large Pear Solitaire Ring — $28.49. The point of Adele's ring is scale, and this is our largest pear. Stainless steel, silver-tone, plain band rather than pavé.
Demi Lovato — pear solitaire
Demi's 2023 ring from Material Good is a pear solitaire, estimated around 5 carats, on a slim band.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Pear Pavé Halo Chevron Ring — $21.49. Pear center in steel. Ours adds a pavé halo and a chevron band, so it's the more decorated take; if you'd rather have Demi's plain solitaire, pick the Charlene ring above instead.
Emerald cuts: the old-Hollywood group
Grace Kelly — emerald cut with tapered baguettes
Cartier, platinum, 10.48 carats, a tapered baguette on each side. Announced January 1956, and still the reference for "emerald cut with baguettes."

Our take: Brass CZ Emerald Cut Baguette Side Ring — $22.99. Emerald-cut center with channel-set baguettes running down both shoulders, silver-tone brass. Grace's has one tapered baguette per side; ours carries the baguettes further along the band, so it reads a little bolder.
Elizabeth Taylor — the Krupp diamond
Technically not an engagement ring: Richard Burton bought the 33.19-carat Asscher-cut Krupp diamond at auction in 1968, four years into their marriage. It's a cut-cornered step cut in a platinum Art Deco setting with tapered baguettes, and it belongs in any list of iconic rings.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Emerald Cut Pavé Prong Solitaire Ring — $28.99. Step-cut CZ, prong set, pavé shoulders, stainless steel. An emerald cut is a slightly longer rectangle than an Asscher; the stepped, "hall of mirrors" look is the same.
Sofia Richie — minimalist emerald cut
Sofia's 2022 Stephanie Gottlieb ring — an emerald-cut solitaire, estimated 5–6 carats, platinum, no distractions — is the quiet-luxury ring.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Emerald Cut Prong Pavé Solitaire Ring — $22.49. A small emerald-cut CZ on a thin band — the quiet, no-fuss version. Two differences: our stone is set east-west (sideways) where Sofia's runs north-south, and the band has a fine line of pavé where hers is plain.
Serena Williams and Paris Hilton — oversized emerald cut
Alexis Ohanian's 2016 Rome proposal came with a very large emerald-cut center — reported around 12 carats — originally with side stones, later reset onto a pavé band. Paris Hilton's 2021 Jean Dousset ring takes the same idea further: an emerald cut reported at around 20 carats.

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Emerald Cut Lattice Side Solitaire Ring — $20.49. A big emerald-cut CZ held high in four prongs, stainless steel. The shoulders are an open lattice rather than pavé, which makes the stone look even larger on the hand.
Round and band: the timeless group
Britney Spears — round solitaire
Britney's 2021 ring from Forever Diamonds NY: a 4-carat round brilliant in a platinum cathedral setting with a pavé bridge and "Lioness" engraved inside.

Our take: Stainless Steel Silver CZ Round Large Four Prong Solitaire Ring — $22.99. Round CZ, four prongs, silver-tone stainless steel, sizes 5–10 and well stocked. The simplest ring here and the hardest to get wrong.
Marilyn Monroe — baguette eternity band
Also not an engagement ring, strictly: the platinum band with 35 baguette diamonds Joe DiMaggio gave Marilyn at their 1954 wedding, sold at Christie's for $772,500 in 1999. It's the origin of the "all-baguette eternity band."

Our take: Stainless Steel CZ Round Baguette Channel Wide Eternity Band Ring — $23.99. Channel-set baguettes and rounds all the way around, wide profile, stainless steel. Marilyn's was baguettes only; ours alternates shapes.
Marquise: the shape that came back
Selena Gomez and Victoria Beckham — the marquise
Benny Blanco proposed to Selena in December 2024 with a marquise diamond on a thin yellow gold band; David Beckham's 1998 ring for Victoria was a roughly 3-carat marquise — a shape that has come back hard since.

Our take: Stainless Steel Gold CZ Marquise Solitaire Classic Ring — $25.99. Marquise CZ in prongs on a plain gold-tone band — gold IP stainless steel, so the yellow-gold look without the tarnish. The closest shape-and-color match in the guide.
Colored stones: the royal (and red-carpet) group
Princess Diana and Kate Middleton — the sapphire halo
The ring: a 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire in a cluster halo of 14 round diamonds, 18k white gold, chosen by Diana from Garrard's catalog in 1981 and given by Prince William to Kate in 2010. The most copied ring in the world.

Our take: Stainless Steel Blue Sapphire Oval CZ Halo Ring — $27.99. Oval blue CZ, round-CZ halo, silver-tone stainless steel, sizes 5–10. The word "sapphire" in the name refers to the color — the stone is blue cubic zirconia, not a sapphire. Layout-wise it's the same ring.
Princess Eugenie — the pink sapphire halo
Eugenie's 2018 ring is an oval padparadscha sapphire (a rare pink-orange) in a diamond halo on yellow gold, modeled on her mother Sarah Ferguson's ruby ring.

Our take: Stainless Steel Pink CZ Oval Round Halo Cluster Flower Ring — $27.99. Oval pink CZ with a round-CZ cluster halo. Ours is silver-tone steel rather than yellow gold, and the pink is a clearer pink than padparadscha's peach.
Meghan Markle — the trilogy
Prince Harry's 2017 design with Cleave & Company: a cushion-cut Botswana diamond flanked by two round diamonds from Diana's collection, on a yellow gold band (reset onto a pavé band in 2019).

Our take: Stainless Steel Gold IP CZ Oval Round Three Stone Ring — $24.99. Three stones, gold-tone, larger center with round sides — the trilogy idea, in gold-finish stainless steel. Our center is oval rather than cushion.
Jackie Kennedy — emerald and diamond
JFK's 1953 Van Cleef & Arpels ring paired a 2.84-carat emerald with a 2.88-carat diamond, both emerald-cut, with baguette accents — the original "toi et moi."

Our take: Stainless Steel Green Cabochon Cushion CZ Pear Three Stone Ring — $22.99. A deep green center with a clear CZ pear on each side, stainless steel — the same green-and-white pairing. It's a color-and-mood match, not a layout match: the green stone is a smooth cabochon (a simulated stone, not an emerald), and we don't have a true two-stone toi-et-moi. Born in May? This is also your birthstone color.
Princess Diana's aquamarine (the one Meghan wore)
Not an engagement ring either — Diana had a large emerald-cut aquamarine set on a yellow gold band by Asprey around 1996, and Meghan wore it to her 2018 wedding reception, which sent it to the top of every search list.

Our take: Stainless Steel Silver CZ Emerald Cut Aqua Three Stone Ring — $30.49. Emerald-cut aqua-blue CZ with side stones, stainless steel, sizes 5–10. Silver-tone instead of Diana's gold, and the "aqua" is CZ, not aquamarine — but the pale-blue rectangle is exactly the look.
Mariah Carey — pink emerald cut
Nick Cannon's 2008 ring from Jacob & Co. put a pink emerald-cut diamond at the center — one of the rings that made colored centers a red-carpet thing.

Our take: Sterling Silver Pink CZ Emerald Cut Baguette Ring — $31.49. Pink emerald-cut CZ with a baguette on each side, sterling silver. The pink is CZ, not a pink diamond, and the side stones are baguettes rather than a halo.
Steel vs. sterling silver: which to pick
If you want to put a ring on and forget about it, choose stainless steel. It won't tarnish, won't react with skin, won't turn green, and shrugs off water, sweat and sunscreen. The trade-off is that steel is slightly greyer than silver and can't be resized, so check our ring size chart before ordering.
Sterling silver is brighter and whiter — closer to platinum on camera — and most of our silver rings are rhodium-plated, which slows tarnish. It still wants to be taken off for the pool and wiped now and then. Silver is the better choice if the ring is for photos and occasions; steel if it's for every day.
Either way, the stones are CZ. Good CZ is optically brighter than a low-grade diamond and will hold its sparkle for years if you keep the underside clean — warm water, a drop of dish soap, a soft brush.
FAQ
Are these real diamonds or gemstones? No. The stones in this guide are cubic zirconia, including the blue, pink and aqua ones, plus one green simulated cabochon. Names like "sapphire" or "aqua" describe the color.
Is a stainless steel ring OK to wear as an actual engagement ring? Plenty of people do, and for a good reason: it's hypoallergenic, doesn't tarnish, and costs less than dinner. The honest limitation is that steel can't be resized, so get the size right first.
Will a gold-tone steel ring fade? IP (ion-plated) gold finish on stainless steel is one of the more durable gold-tone finishes and holds up to daily wear far better than plated brass. It's still a finish, not solid gold, and heavy friction over years will eventually show at the edges.
Which of these is closest to Taylor Swift's ring? For the warm, antique cushion feel: the gold cushion cable-twist solitaire above ($28.49). No stainless or silver ring will reproduce the hand-engraved band and old mine cut exactly — anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you something.
